For thick-layer applications in construction chemistry, it is important to reduce the degree of yellowing to a minimum through special formulations. For thick-layer applications in construction chemistry, it is important to reduce the degree of yellowing to a minimum through special formulations. The main influence here is exerted by epoxy resin hardeners. The right choice of raw materials, together with special low impact technologies for the production of these hardeners make the decisive difference here. With ipox EH 2062 and ipox EH 2072 we can produce hardeners that are ideally suited for the formulation of low-yellowing epoxy resin systems. In the field of thin-layer applications for paints and coatings, completely new hybrid systems have been developed and established over the past few years. Aliphatic or cycloaliphatic epoxy resins - in particular ipox ER 15 - are treated with a combination of silicone resins (e.g. SILRES® HP 2000 or Dow Corning® 3055 Resin). The resulting coating systems display ultra high solidity, are extremely resistant to yellowing and weathering and are particularly suitable as excellent corrosion protective coatings, which meet the desired high optical requirements. Due to savings in application times, as well as providing a longer lifecycle, they are also extremely cost-efficient. SILRES® is a registered trademark of Wacker Chemie AG.
